This Saturday November 12th sees the ground pounding return of the V8 Dirt Modifieds to Coates Hire Geraldton City Speedway for Round 2 of their JD Racewear Club Championship and the 3rd running of the Soldier On Cup.
Soldier On – Helping Our Wounded Warriors Soldier On is about Australians coming together to show their support for our physically and psychologically wounded. We want to show the men and women of our defence forces that all Australians will have their backs. Thanks to the support of the Australian public, we work to enhance recovery, inspire communities and empower Australia’s wounded, giving those who have served our country the dignity they deserve and the chance to do and be whatever they choose.
The executive committee and all DMAWA members would like to thank Coates Hire Geraldton City Speedway for hosting this event and reminds everyone that there will be members from the club fundraising for Soldier On on the night.
With the first round of the JD Racewear Championship series being rained out all teams will be itching to take the first win of the season and bragging rights after a long off season. The Soldier On Cup sees a strong field of 9 cars nominate to take the green and hopefully bring home the chequered.
This round sees the return of Raz Pederson after he took a season off in 2014/15. He will certainly be one to watch in this much anticipated return after coming off winning the DMAWA points championship in the 2013/14 season. He is also the winner of the 1st Soldier On Cup.
He joins Bianca Smith who is also making her return after taking a season off on maternity leave.
Peter Forbes comes off a strong 2nd place finish at the Motorplex last weekend and is always on the pace and hard charging, he is also the reigning series champion for last season.
Michael Harris makes his debut in the Peter Cox owned 24 car as he looks to gain valuable laps and knowledge with the seasoned Cox offering his wealth of experience.
Will Pederson be able to etch his name on the silverware for a 2nd time or will one of the other drivers be able to take the Cup for this prestigious blue ribbon event.
